Collaboration

The Artis Collaboration Practice was established to help clients unlock the value of their existing intellectual capital by changing the way in which information is shared between employees, partners and customers.

The emergence of Web 2.0 technologies has delivered powerful and easy to use tools that allow an organisation to break free of the constraints of shared drives and inflexible document management systems while harnessing the experience and creativity of its people.

Careful and considered adoption of new technologies can significantly improve an organisation’s responsiveness to change while also lowering the costs associated with creating, maintaining and distributing knowledge both inside and beyond traditional organisational boundaries.

The Artis Collaboration Practice offers a range of technical and consulting services to support your collaboration project including:

  • Server sizing and selection;
  • Confluence, operating system and database software installation and configuration;
  • Active Directory & LDAP integration;
  • Microsoft SharePoint integration;
  • Design of the Wiki architecture and security;
  • Development of custom skins and templates; and
  • Training and mentoring.

"The hard stuff is easy. It is the soft stuff that is hard.
And the soft stuff is a lot more important than the hard stuff."
Dr. Tom Malone, President & CEO, Milliken & Company

Of course, establishing a culture of collaboration requires more than installing software.  It requires a change in the way people think about information.  It has been our experience that the most effective way to engender cultural change is to allow those people affected by the change to discover the benefits for themselves.

With this in mind, Artis has developed the Wiki2 approach to Wiki implementations.  At the start of an engagement, Artis configures a dedicated Wiki space on its own Confluence system. The Wiki is accessible over the Internet and is used from the outset as the repository for your project documents, requirements, constraints and design decisions. Project stakeholders, project team members and Artis consultants use the Wiki to actively collaborate in the development of your Wiki’s specifications.

By immersing key staff in the collaborative environment from day one, the real world benefits that can be gained from the open sharing of knowledge become self evident.  This helps breed agents of change who can spread their message throughout the enterprise.

The Artis Collaboration Practice has worked with clients to create Wiki based intranets and extranets that support collaboration across a range of industry sectors.

Artis can also provide expertise in more traditional Internet technologies.  For example, did you know that the structure and content of your website could be having a detrimental effect on how it is ranked by search engines?  This could seriously devalue the return on your online investment. Through the application of proven Search Engine Optimisation techniques Artis can help improve the page ranking and drive more potential customers to your website.

By taking advantage of the Artis Collaboration Practice’s collective knowledge and experience you reduce the risk and improve the return on your collaboration project investment.
