Methodologies
Artis utilises a range of methodologies and tools in the various activities upon which the business is focused. The choice of methodology is driven by the need to best integrate with our clients own chosen methodology and by other factors including the size and complexity of the project to be undertaken. Appropriate consideration is given in the selection of a methodology so as to minimise risk and maximise value. Methodologies and tools used in all phases of the service delivery lifecycle operate under the overarching Artis Quality Management System, Artis PathfinderTM. Based on many years collective experience around various QMS environments, Artis staff have collaborated to develop our in-house system Artis PathfinderTM which is a proven, intelligent, pragmatic and results focused system.

Development Methodology:
Based around an initial assessment phase and the consideration of four key factors, Artis applies the most suited development methodology within a combination of four widely understood approaches:
- Agile
- Rational
- RUP/USDP
- Waterfall
The development framework and selection of methodology is schematically shown below:
Transition Methodology:
In order to ready an application for Support (whether that application was developed by Artis or others), Artis has developed its own processes and methods that are designed to identify and mitigate risks. These processes are designed to operate under the Artis PathfinderTM QMS. This transition framework is outlined below:
Support Methodology:
The SLA based support provided by Artis operates in an ITIL based service delivery framework, the Microsoft Operational Framework, (MOF). Utilising features of the MS Windows/SQL/.Net technology stack, MOF enables efficiencies to be achieved throughout the process. Service provision is optimised around key requirements including:
- Availability
- Performance
- Quality
- Cost
